WHAT IS THE COSIGNERS RESPONSIBILITY ONCE BAIL IS POSTED?

The co-signer attests that the defendant will show up to his or her court date. If the defendant fails to show, the cosigner is held liable for the full amount of the bail. This liability is why it’s important for the cosigner to be sure the defendant is trustworthy before arranging jail release.
